Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

Family & Children's Association is seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) to join the THRIVE team, Long Island's first recovery center dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals in recovery and their families. The role involves implementing assessments, developing individualized recovery plans, and collaborating with recoverees to assist them in their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

Implement skills and needs assessments for individuals in recovery (PIR) to identify their strengths and areas for growth
Collaborate with recoverees to develop individualized recovery plans and track progress toward goals
Provide mentoring and assist recoverees in identifying and overcoming obstacles to their recovery
Match recoverees with appropriate resources, programs, and support services to meet their specific needs
Work with the Recovery Services Coordinator to plan and facilitate programs, groups, and activities for recoverees
Assist in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, while promoting and facilitating special events that encourage cooperation and teamwork

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of Recovery Coach Training Academy (minimum 28 hours)
Knowledge of recovery and community resources
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills required
Valid and clean NYS driver's license required

Preferred

Experience in delivery of peer recovery services and supports preferred
