Academic Program Coordinator II - Accounting (PT - 18 hrs)
Great Bay Community College is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator II for their Accounting program. This role involves administrative oversight, curriculum development, and student advisement to enhance the effectiveness and promotion of the program.

Responsibilities
Assists the Department Chair with the administration of the Accounting program including the recruitment and selection of faculty, scheduling and assigning of instructional assignments and the evaluation of Accounting faculty
Assists the Department Chair in the identification, development and implementation of professional development and training plans for faculty
Serves as academic advisor to Accounting students and helps promote student retention
Develops, implements, and evaluates curricula; maintains program/course documents
Oversees the accounting curriculum and reviews and coordinates textbook selection
Communicates and works with other academic and non-academic departments on issues of mutual concern such as general academic issues, library purchases, registration and placement activities
Participates in meetings, recruitment events and activities of academic leadership council
Monitors graduates for the purpose of compiling placement statistics
Maintains liaison with professional community including recruiting, developing and advising the advisory committee, and responding to professional development needs
Assists with the procurement process for program-related materials, equipment, etc
Serves on faculty and department, college, and system committees and teams as required
Complies with College, System, State and Federal rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in accounting or closely related field
Five years' professional experience as an accountant or accounting instructor
Master's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Education or accounting. A Master's degree in Education requires a bachelor's degree in accounting
Four years' professional experience as an accountant or accounting instructor
Valid drivers' license or access to transportation
Knowledge of the accounting field as it relates to the course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation
Knowledge of educational standards and procedures
Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others
Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student
Ability to work effectively with educators and 'business' and community people outside the college
Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team
Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate
Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making
Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college
