CCBA Chief Executive Officer
The League for Innovation in the Community College is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in fulfilling its mission and strategic plan. The CEO will manage the organization, collaborate with the Board of Directors, and enhance the influence of community college baccalaureate degrees through various initiatives and programs.

Responsibilities
Manage and lead the organization in a manner that ensures excellence and maximum impact
Establishes the mechanism for the Board of Directors to develop a strategic plan with goals and action plans
Collaborate with staff and Board of Directors in implementing the strategic plan
Broaden the organization’s influence by expanding its membership base and increasing the number of colleges and states offering community college baccalaureate degrees
Demonstrate quality of analysis and judgment related to organizational progress, opportunities, and the need for changes
Ensures CCBA complies with all nonprofit laws and regulations for a 501(c)(3) organization
Successfully assists in planning and executing the annual National Conference
Leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of CCBA programs and services
Organizes and oversees educational workshops and other meetings to promote professional development and collaboration
Fosters the development of research and best practices related community college baccalaureate degrees
Reports on issues and trends in community college education, higher education and educational business trends securing Board of Directors input on matters of significance
Report high-level activities that reflect on operations and matters which require Board of Directors input/approval/awareness: Operations impact. Membership status Strategic/program accomplishments
Works closely with the Board of Directors to establish and implement policies, oversee governance, and ensure alignment with CCBA’s mission and goals
Recommends potential new members for the CCBA Board of Directors and facilitates new Board member orientation
Provides timely and precise reports to the Board of Directors
Organizes Board of Directors meetings and agendas with the Chair
Prepares a self-assessment to be used in his/her performance evaluation
Develop programs, policies and procedures that reflect CCBA’s mission and strategic and operational priorities
Develop and oversees business practices that are efficient, effective, legal, and in keeping with accounting practices, non-profit incorporation policies, and federal and state regulatory requirements
Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing staff and consultants
Directs and evaluates other professionals who provide expertise to CCBA
Leads staff effectively and creates a work environment that promotes excellence
Interacts with the media and other parties to impart CCBA’s brand identity, position, purpose, and priorities: Works with staff to maintain and update the CCBA website
Contributes to CCBA newsletter and distributes CEO communications
Prepares/oversees news releases for dissemination in various modalities
Serves as an effective CCBA spokesperson for all public relations including but not limited to media, specific meetings, and events
Possess proficiency with networking at a national level among various organizations, including potential grant funders, and industry leaders
Ability to effectively collaborate, negotiate, motivate and influence diverse group of individuals and stakeholders at the national level
Represents the organization to policymakers, government agencies, the media, and the public to advocate for higher education policy priorities
Develops and secures approval for an annual budget that reflects CCBA’s strategic and operational priorities, conferring with the Executive Committee before presentations to the Board of Directors
In collaboration with a CPA firm, oversees CCBA funds while upholding strong financial practices
In collaboration with the CCBA treasurer, provides to the Board of Directors an accurate and timely update on revenues and expenses, cash-on-hand, investments and the overall financial capacity of the association, and unanticipated variances from budget
Oversees the audit process ensuring accountability
Secures funding through grants, philanthropic gifts, sponsorships, partnerships, and CCBA consulting services that align with the CCBA’s mission and strategic and operational priorities
Represents CCBA to various stakeholder groups, advancing the value contributions of community college baccalaureate degrees
Builds and manage relationships with key stakeholders such as national and state representatives, sponsors, industry leaders, and nonprofit associations
Strengthens the network of collaborators aligned with CCBA
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in higher education, public policy, public administration, educational leadership, business administration, or related field; doctoral degree is preferred
Proven ability to lead, motivate, grow, and diversify volunteer leadership and build member engagement
Demonstrated experience in leadership and management role(s) within a nonprofit association or similar organization with proven fiscal, programmatic, and operational management experience
Understanding of legal and financial operations with diversified revenue streams
Ability to develop and implement a strategic plan
Commitment to represent CCBA at various national meetings and events of significance with professional integrity and executive presence. Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Composed and confident public speaker is required, to effectively advocate on behalf of CCBA to our members, community, media, partners and legislative or regulatory stakeholders as needed
Ability to effectively articulate CCBA's positions to a wide, varied audience to advance all strategic priorities and issues impacting our members, partners, and profession
Demonstrated ability to maintain and support a high quality operations team to support individual staff development, innovation and career advancement
Strong work ethic, accountability, positive attitude, teambuilder with thoughtful approach to association management and staff development
Applicant must possess high level of integrity, authenticity and honesty with drive to serve the organization, embody its values and create an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, accountability and transparency

Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to pivot quickly to shifting needs and demands
Travel: The CEO position requires travel to various national meetings, annual conventions, and related representations of importance
Preferred
Background in higher education administration and/or business operations management with a minimum of three years' experience in senior-level management or executive-level roles preferred
Knowledge of community college baccalaureate programs is preferred
Association management experience is strongly preferred, either as an association executive leader or as a volunteer association leader/community Board of Directors member
