They are seeking an experienced Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriter to analyze information for new and renewal business, maintain relationships with agents, and ensure a profitable book of business.

Responsibilities

Objectively analyze diverse information on new and renewal business to accept, price, modify, or reject business within delegated authority level for both Admitted and Surplus Lines Products
Effectively apply forms, endorsements, and deductibles to help mitigate risk
Develop strong business relationships with key agents and provide underwriting guidance to the agents
Maintain a profitable book of business within assigned levels of authority by using sound underwriting judgment and technical skills
Continue personal industry skills and knowledge development to meet the company goals of quality and timeliness
Maintain knowledge of current insurance market trends, conditions, competitive intelligence, and product and service innovations
Ability to interact collaboratively and collegially with colleagues, agents, and customers in a professional manner

Required

At least two years of Commercial P&C underwriting insurance experience is required (experience with Commercial Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, BOP/CPP preferred)
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts - strong customer service focus
Strong organizational and time management skills required
Strong intellectual curiosity
Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks on time

Preferred

Pursuit of CPCU, CIC, or other applicable designations with a willingness to complete preferred but not required
Bachelor's degree preferred
