Middlesex County is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join the County IT team. This position serves as the day-to-day technical support to ensure reliable and efficient technology operations across County departments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to end users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications, operating systems, and network devices

Diagnose and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, email, and peripherals

Assist with network support, including local area and wide area networks

Document issues, resolutions, and system configurations

Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users and provide training or guidance as needed

Qualification

Required

Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Proven experience in IT support or a closely related field

Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues involving hardware, software, and network systems

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with information systems, computers, hardware, software, and email systems

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, valid driver's license, and no felony record

Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)

Preferred

Certifications in Microsoft technologies

Experience with local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and basic web development
