Responsibilities
This role is for an Electrical Engineer, who provides support to the Production and Maintenance organizations for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment with a primary focus on the expansion of Honeywell’s condition-based maintenance program
Additional responsibilities for this role may include new equipment specifications, vendor checkouts, installations, document management develops and maintains preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, leads complex troubleshooting activities related to breakdowns and other reliability/throughput issues, and effectively communicates with stakeholders
Assists and/or leads in the design and management of new and current facility projects, equipment improvement, and reliability projects
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving complex maintenance and troubleshooting issues, supporting maintenance machine repair people, electricians, and pipefitters
Supports facility electrical safety programs for maintenance and engineering requirements
Prepares evaluation reports, makes recommendations for, and initiates the most cost-effective improvements for equipment maintainability and reliability and supports improvements in productivity safety
Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics from an accredited program
4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
United States Citizenship
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
Preferred
Demonstrates application of advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering projects
Demonstrates working under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
Experience in predictive maintenance technologies and/or machine health monitoring connectivity of industrial equipment; aiding in faster troubleshooting, reduction in downtime, and support planned maintenance by identifying failures before they occur
Maintenance management systems such as Maximo
Ability to troubleshoot machine problems and determine root cause and appropriate corrective action for equipment breakdowns
Experience working with complex machines and their design, installation, repair, and/or retrofit
Understanding of electrical theory, circuits, hardware applications, schematics, and logic sequences. Experience with maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, upgrading and/or modifying complex production manufacturing or laboratory equipment and automated controls
Ability to provide technical guidance, management of projects, consultative services, risk assessment and regular participation in innovative solutions
Experience with types of automated equipment controls including PC, PLC and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) controlled equipment
Experience in the use of CAD and/or solid modeling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision-making. Strong communication skills - both written and verbal. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation
Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects
Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes
