The Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Safeguarding & Audit Compliance Specialist I to support the Illinois Department of Revenue. Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision, serves as a Safeguarding & Audit Compliance Specialist I for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDoR) completing professional assignments of limited scope for DoIT/IDoR Safeguarding & Audit Compliance
Completes professional assignments of limited scope in creating, maintaining, and improving documentation related to audit compliance and access provisioning
Receives increasingly difficult assignments in safeguarding and audit compliance, including instruction in applying related principles to new and existing methods of access control
Keeps abreast of new developments in the Safeguarding and Audit Compliance field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Required

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields
Requires satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program
Requires the ability to verify identity
Requires employment authorization to accept permanent full-time position with the State of Illinois
Requires the ability to pass a position specific, agency required background check
Requires self-disclosure of criminal history
Requires the ability to use agency supplied equipment such as laptop, personal computer, work cell phone and any other required equipment or devices
Requires the ability to attend seminars, conferences and training to remain current on methods, tools, ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to job duties
Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
Requires the ability to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, short notice, evenings, weekends and holidays
Requires the ability to pass a Tax Compliance check

Preferred

Elementary knowledge of independently following established technical or business processes to support IT operations, user access provisioning, or tax processing systems
Elementary knowledge of testing IT Applications, access provisioning tools, or audit compliance workflows, including validating functionality and identifying process gaps
Elementary knowledge of user authentication and role-based access control models, including experience provisioning or modifying user roles within systems such as Active Directory or enterprise applications
Elementary knowledge of developing, reviewing, and editing Information Technology or State Tax Processing documents with attention to accuracy, policy alignment, and clarity in formatting and language
Elementary knowledge of tools or concepts related to audit compliance, safeguarding data, or security frameworks
