Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications and industry standards, as well as maintaining quality logs and communicating findings to the production team.

Responsibilities

Performing product inspections per internal, customer, and industry requirements as assigned based on training and experience. This may include: Dimensional and Visual Inspection of mechanical and electrical parts from internal and external suppliers (including Outside Process) using scopes and hand gages, such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, and GO/NOGO Gauges
Dimensional and Visual Inspections in support of internal machining to verify conformance to requirements using CMM and gages, such as MicroHite, Optical Comparator, Bore Gages, Gage Maker, and assorted hand gages
Recording and maintaining logs of type and number of defects. Communicating findings to production team members, engineers, and management
Reviewing material test reports and special process certificates against drawings and purchase order requirements to ensure supplier compliance to standards
Performing First Article Inspections and creating report of findings
Preparing NCR’s to document defects in accordance with facility requirements
Separating rejected parts and assemblies and identifying defect locations on the assembly
Performing audits and familiarizing employees with established processes, policies, standards, and procedures
Creating inspection test plans and bubble drawings to facilitate inspection data collection and control plan definition
Reconciling and creating packages of final inspection documentation for shipments
Initiating and participating in continuous improvement processes
Following the safety procedures of the organization
Following the 5S procedures for work area
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High School degree or GED
4+ years of quality experience
Ability to read and understand drawings, customer standards, and purchase order requirements
Must have the basic knowledge and experience with computers to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
Requires excellent attention to detail
Working knowledge of measurement instruments and tools
Must have advanced knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009
Requires good time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to follow documented procedures and standard
Ability to read and interpret training documents, safety rules, procedural documents, and blueprints
Ability to read and understand drawings and purchase order requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
Work requires a good command of the English language
The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to adapt to frequent changes to work processes
This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident
