Responsibilities
Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values
Maintains flow of patients in accordance with time of appointment in order to avoid delays for the provider and undue waiting for patients
Keeps the exam rooms clean, disinfected and stocked with necessary supplies
Obtains vital signs, reason for visit and list of medications from patients and prepares patient for visit
Assists the medical provider with all examinations and procedures
Schedules outpatient tests and procedures at hospitals by telephone in a timely manner; adheres to the referral process of the practice
Schedules follow-up procedure/appointments and specialty appointments
Updates patient demographics and immunization forms as needed
Administers immunizations and medications as directed by medical provider
Performs patient call processing as needed
Performs audiometry, eye exams, EKG’s, and spirometry as assigned
Assists with front desk duties as needed
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalency
Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
Current listing on the Nebraska Medication Aide registry
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
Preferred
Graduation from a Medical Assistant (MA) program
