Stealth-mode Biotech is an early-stage, venture-backed biotechnology company focused on developing novel protein-based radioligand therapies. They are seeking a highly motivated Scientist specialized in maintaining and characterizing human cancer cell lines to support their In Vitro Pharmacology team in biologics screening and radiopharmaceutical discovery programs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibility for maintaining an extensive library of human cancer cell lines, including media procurement, culture initiation, propagation, cryopreservation of cells and cryogenic storage (LN2) inventory
Provide large-scale cell harvests for binding, internalization, cytotoxicity assays, and animal model inoculations
Regularly monitor and document the growth kinetics, morphology, and target expression of cancer cell lines
Develop and maintain multicellular tumor spheroids or organoids to mimic solid tumors for various in vitro assays
Rigorous execution of mycoplasma testing, STR profiling coordination, and sterility monitoring within the tissue culture lab
Ensure strict adherence to ionizing radiation safety protocols and internal guidelines for handling radioactive materials; promote a regulatory compliance culture
Accurately document experiments and maintain electronic lab notebooks (Benchling) in a timely manner
Conduct in-depth data analysis and effectively communicate results in project meetings, ensuring alignment with timelines and goals
A strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment is essential

Qualification

Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or a related field with 10+ years experience, or a Master's with 5+ years of relevant experience
Proven track record of maintaining contamination-free cultures for extended periods, thawing, manual/automated cell counting, passaging, cryopreservation and LN2 freezer Inventory
Strong hands-on laboratory skills, including but not limited to fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, western blot, RT-PCR and other standard cell biology techniques
Experience in human 3D tumor spheroid and organoid culture, passaging, and plating for experiments
Demonstrated scientific productivity and independence, with strong problem-solving skills
A strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment is essential
Maintain thorough and detailed records of experimental procedures and results using electronic laboratory notebooks

Preferred

Radiopharmaceutical experience preferred but not required
Proficiency with bio-tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and Benchling
Strong communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
Demonstrated track record in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet schedules and timelines
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present effectively to teams
