Mechanical Tech II
Tyonek Native Corp is seeking a Mechanical Tech II to assemble parts into assemblies or sub-assemblies from blueprints or work orders. The role involves adjusting fits, inspecting assemblies, and utilizing precision measurement instruments to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities
Adjust fit as required using hand and power tools to fabricate complex mechanical assemblies to specifications
Inspect and adjust completed assemblies to ensure specifications, tolerances and customer requirements are met
Experience in metal machining and have a working knowledge of metal turning/milling/shaping and grinding processes
Use precision measurement instruments to determine tolerances and uses that knowledge to perform complex mechanical inspections regularly assists others in complex inspections
Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine proper assembly sequences and has the ability to identify and suggest process improvements
Must have the ability to select the correct tool needed to do the job, regularly makes decisions on tooling requirement for specific tasks
Monitors the assembly process and actively evaluates materials, process and environment and uses sound judgment to detect potential problems
Candidate is an active participant in 'NPI' and uses experience and training to make tooling and process suggestions for new products
Must be able to uses mathematics to define or solve complex mechanical assembly problems
Must be a self-starter

Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
6+ years' experience
Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings
Verifiable experience using Microsoft Office products
Must be able to read, understand, and complete projects based on blueprints
Experience in metal machining and working knowledge of metal turning/milling/shaping and grinding processes
Must have the ability to select the correct tool needed to do the job, regularly makes decisions on tooling requirement for specific tasks
Must be able to uses mathematics to define or solve complex mechanical assembly problems
Must be a self-starter
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
