Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools supporting LANL's Weapons Mission
Collaborate with customers, engineers, and IT professionals to define and implement software solutions
Customize, configure, and maintain large-scale product-lifecycle, content-management, and materials-information systems (including Granta MI)
Support Model-Based Systems Engineering workflows, including Cameo and Teamwork Cloud (TWC) integrations
Contribute to requirements analysis, system design, and documentation
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure system reliability and performance
Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous-improvement activities
Ensure all work meets LANL's safety, security, and quality standards
Demonstrate expertise in balancing independent work with collaborative efforts in a fast-paced environment
Maintain a record of success in developing and sustaining strong working relationships with colleagues

Required

Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, coding, testing, and deployment
Working knowledge of relational database design and implementation (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with web application development using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or XML
Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and system-to-system integrations
Experience using Windows and Linux operating systems for software installation and configuration
Understanding of modern development practices, including Agile methodologies and version control tools (e.g., Git)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with customers, engineers, IT professionals, and external partners
Demonstrated ability to independently design, implement, and support software solutions for enterprise applications or systems with limited supervision
Experience providing technical leadership, including contributing to system design decisions, guiding implementation approaches, and influencing technical direction
Experience working directly with customers, product owners, or stakeholders to analyze business needs and translate them into effective, production-ready solutions
Proven ability to resolve moderately complex technical issues involving system integration, data flows, or automation
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or automation efforts that enhance efficiency, reliability, or software quality
Ability to effectively communicate technical recommendations, risks, and solution strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

Experience configuring authentication systems such as Single Sign-On (SSO) or OAuth2
Familiarity with CAD and ECAD tools, including Creo Products and Extensions
Experience configuring or supporting web and application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat)
Interest in contributing to U.S. national security and understanding the science and engineering processes supporting WMT's mission
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners, including DOE organizations
Demonstrated initiative and ownership in solving technical and organizational challenges
Active DOE Q-Clearance
