Responsibilities

Collaborating with Hardware and System Engineers to design, develop, and refine prototypes and mock-ups for testing platforms
Creating custom electro-mechanical test fixtures tailored to specific application needs
Conducting hands-on verification of design requirements through physical testing and analysis in the laboratory environment
Contributing to the full product development lifecycle by working closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain
Partnering with suppliers to obtain quotes, manage component sourcing, and ensure that designs are manufacturable with maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Participating in design reviews and ensuring that all products meet or exceed required specifications
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and safety guidelines throughout the design process
Assisting with system integration and troubleshooting, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions as necessary
Documenting all phases of design work, including changes to specifications, analysis, and results of testing
Supporting the production of prototype hardware and transitioning designs from the prototyping phase to full-scale manufacturing

Required

Currently pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software, with experience in creating detailed mechanical designs and assemblies
Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems with practical engineering solutions
Highly curious and motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Candidates must be local to the position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
All candidates for this ITAR restricted position must be one of the following: US Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee or otherwise lawfully admitted under an amnesty program

Preferred

Experience in designing automation systems, integrating motors, slides, sensors, and controls
Familiarity with basic electrical systems and wiring principles
Hands-on experience with laboratory testing
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Experience with software or firmware development for embedded systems is a plus
