Data Scientist– Quantitative Research

Responsibilities
Translate open-ended product or research questions into well-defined, testable analytical problems
Design and analyze surveys and large-scale quantitative studies, including defining sampling strategies and success metrics
Clean, prepare, and validate survey or behavioral datasets for analysis
Apply inferential statistical techniques to test hypotheses and explore relationships in data
Evaluate assumptions, identify sources of bias, and assess limitations in study design and results
Interpret analytical results with a strong focus on statistical validity and real-world implications
Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings clearly and transparently
Create charts, summaries, and written narratives to communicate insights to non-technical audiences
Translate quantitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product and research partners
Deliver research outputs on time and aligned with agreed milestones
Partner with researchers, designers, and product stakeholders to refine research questions and metrics
Review findings with cross-functional teams and iterate on analyses based on feedback
Contribute meaningfully to working sessions, reviews, and research discussions
Help stakeholders understand what conclusions the data does — and does not — support
Manage multiple analyses or studies concurrently with minimal oversight
Prioritize work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Proactively identify analytical risks, gaps, or opportunities and raise them with project partners
Maintain high standards for analytical rigor, reproducibility, and transparency
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience applying inferential statistics and quantitative research methods in a professional setting
Strong foundation in statistical concepts, including hypothesis testing, sampling, and experimental or quasi-experimental design
Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and analyzing surveys or large-scale quantitative studies
Proficiency in statistical programming using R, Python, or similar tools for data analysis
Ability to work with ambiguous problem statements and translate them into structured analytical approaches
Experience communicating quantitative findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in quantitative psychology, behavioral science, statistics, social science, or a related field
Experience working with behavioral or user research data in product-focused environments
Familiarity with best practices for research documentation, reproducibility, and analytical transparency
Experience supporting high-impact, user-facing products at scale
Comfort operating autonomously as an individual contributor while maintaining strong stakeholder alignment
