Supervisor, Gateway Production (Starlink) – 2nd Shift
SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to enable human life on Mars. The Supervisor of Gateway Production will lead a team responsible for the assembly and testing of ground station antennas, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and operations.

Responsibilities
Manage an hourly workforce by assessing employee performance, providing positive/constructive feedback, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing repeat issues with corrective actions, performance improvement plans or through disciplinary means
Lead by setting an example; take feedback from all levels of the organization, and motivate your organization to achieve the highest level of results (in safety, quality, and rate)
Provide mentorship to team, and assist with design decisions, project strategies and technical problems
Establish and analyze area metrics to drive:
Personnel training and development
Optimization of product flow through the factory
Efficiency improvement projects
Identification and elimination of defects within the area value stream
Reduction of downtime for product and personnel
Independently perform hands-on assembly of hardware components and test when required
Own test lab operations, including scheduling, preventative maintenance, and first-pass troubleshooting
Develop innovative solutions for defective hardware by troubleshooting and processing
Monitor and approve employee timekeeping records
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Bachelor's degree; or 4+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/production environment
1+ years of experience leading a team or project
Available to work 2nd shift hours: Monday-Friday 4:30 PM - 2:45 AM
Willing to work extended hours and weekends, as needed
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
Preferred
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or a test environment
2+ years of working hands-on with safety-critical systems, mechanical assemblies or heavy equipment
2+ years of professional experience leading a team
Bachelor's degree
Experience rapidly hiring, training, and stabilizing large production teams
Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent
Experience with lean manufacturing training, lean manufacturing principles, and efficiency methods
Experience in fast-paced production environment
Experience with harnessing, electro-mechanical assembly, and prototype development
Experience monitoring, tracking, and continually improving total cost equation
Strong understanding of design for manufacturability proficiency including: Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis
Ability to read, interpret controlled documentation, and processes such as: cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists
Proficient with computers, the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), shop floor management software (ERP), and related programs
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
