Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst - SER0016

Responsibilities
Perform inspections, investigations, and compliance assistance activities at wastewater facilities using knowledge of the laws and regulations to determine if facilities are operating in compliance
Communicate by means of written reports, telephone, email, and other electronic means
Implement policy and rules concerning wastewater facilities. Provide feedback to management and the Clean Water Unit to communicate how well policies are working based on field observations and suggest changes in their development
Respond to other duties as assigned, including infrequent response to environmental emergencies
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license

Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, consider the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately
Attention to Detail: Thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
Environmental Science: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants
For Assistant: Bachelor's degree and 0-2 year of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
For Analyst: Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline; preference towards environmental, chemistry, or geology degrees
