Responsibilities
Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensuring equipment is operating within set parameters and adhering to safety standards
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements
Ensure operations adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to stationary equipment operations
Coordinate with other maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of issues
Act as a first responder during any stationary equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures and addressing issues promptly
Stay updated with the latest trends, equipment, and best practices in the field, attending workshops and training as necessary
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8+ years of facilities maintenance experience
DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's license
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information
Familiarity with the operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, etc
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications
Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems control applications
The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis
Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools
Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)

Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
