CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Corporate Tax Intern to join their Corporate Tax Team within the Finance Division. This internship will provide hands-on experience in various tax functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and IRS regulations research.

Responsibilities

Prepare & update excel spreadsheets for tax return or personal property tax return workpapers

Research General Ledger discrepancies and uploading journal entries

Research any unpaid personal property tax bills or bills not received

Assist with ad hoc reporting requests from internal divisions

Monitor Tax Filing Calendar to ensure are filings are on time

Assist with account reconciliation processes and research

Assist with pulling audit support for internal and external audits

Required

Working towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University

Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting a major in Accounting and/or Tax Reporting

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must be reliable, hard working and have a strong work ethic

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interface with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and external clients

Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and reprioritize work as necessary

An independent means of transportation. Local travel may be necessary on occasion

Must have strong PC skills especially working with Microsoft Excel

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship
