Research Senior Technician
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Research Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigations in the Department of Neuroscience. The role involves conducting experiments, performing various research techniques, and assisting in the preparation of research reports and publications.

Responsibilities
Assist and support scientific investigation to study bone marrow hematopoiesis and spinal cord injury, as directed in the Department of Neuroscience
Independently conducts assigned experiments
Performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including bone marrow isolations, flow cytometry, PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis
Sorts and processes tissue and blood samples
Tests and evaluates current procedures
Performs routine procedures on lab animals
Records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results
Assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures
Summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts
Prepares research progress reports
Assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts
Conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature
Oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities
Assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation
Sets up and operates laboratory equipment
Monitors research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED
2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree
0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree
ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required
