Research Fellow
Cyber Security Academy Southampton is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced senior research fellow to work on a £1m EPSRC-funded project aimed at developing human-centred AI methods for intelligence analysis in national security. The role involves conducting leading research in human factors and developing machine learning models to enhance the effectiveness of intelligence analysts' assessments.
Research
Responsibilities
Conduct internationally-leading research in human factors with applications to intelligence analysis
Develop and apply methods for eliciting knowledge from expert analysts to encode understanding of their mental models into a machine learning model
Use dynamic Bayesian networks to understand, propagate and reduce uncertainty in analysts' assessments
Apply models of distributed situation awareness and ecological interface design techniques to develop a novel human-centred human-AI teaming model
Work closely with colleagues in statistical/graphical modelling and AI ethics
Qualification
Required
You are a UK National or have been residing in the UK for 5 years or more
You are happy to be put forward for a Security Check (SC) clearance
