Manufacturing Engineering Technician Intern
Barry-Wehmiller is a diversified global supplier of engineering consulting and manufacturing technology for the packaging and paper-converting industries. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineers with daily operations, analyzing manufacturing processes, and recommending solutions to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

Responsibilities
Assist in planning of new or modified production process
Testing and evaluating production process to achieve stable result
Contribute to facility transformation, technology transfer and ongoing maintenance of mixed model manufacturing and/or value streams
Support ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation
Assist estimating production times and related costs to provide information for costing of new products and special projects
Use continuous improvement tools to support implementing process improvements that will reduce cycle time, process variation, defects, changeover time, and lead times
Participate in area layouts, process definition, and fixture implementation
Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, prefer Manufacturing or Mechanical
Strong Spatial and mechanical reasoning skills
Self-Motivated, able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met
Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements
Proficient in Microsoft Office
