Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle development of commercial floorcare equipment — from concept and prototyping through validation, certification, tooling, and launch
Generate robust 2D/3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
Design mechanical systems including drive trains, gearboxes, bearing supports, linkages, structural frames, and enclosure systems
Select materials, fasteners, bearings, motors, sensors, and actuators to meet durability, cost, and performance targets
Develop test plans and supervise validation of performance, reliability, safety, environmental (e.g. ingress, temperature) requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve field issues in collaboration with Technical Service, analyzing failure modes and implementing design fixes
Lead reliability and durability testing, accelerated life testing, vibration, fatigue, thermal cycling, etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical equipment or heavy machinery design
5+ years of hands-on experience with 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
Deep understanding of mechanics: bearings, gearboxes, structural analysis, mechanical tolerancing
Experience with reliability, durability, testing, FMEA, root cause failure analysis
