COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking a Communications Operator to provide a customer service oriented central reception function for the hospital. This role involves disseminating routine and emergency incident information and mobilizing emergency services and personnel in response to crisis situations.

Responsibilities

Provide a customer service oriented central reception function fir the hospital that disseminates routine and emergency incident information
Mobilize emergency services and personnel in response to crisis situations involving life or property
This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need
All ESH positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays, and/or overtime as required

Qualification

Customer service experienceMicrosoft Office SuiteMulti-line telephone systemLaw enforcement radio equipmentDispatching callsMedical setting experienceMonitoring fire alarm systems

Required

Experience providing customer service
Experience in the utilization of the Microsoft Office Suite, online and computer data entry
Experience using a multi-line telephone system and various office equipment
Experience using law enforcement / two-way radio equipment and dispatching calls

Preferred

Experience in a medical setting
Experience in dispatching calls / law enforcement
Experience monitoring fire alarm systems
