Responsibilities
The role combines hands-on data engineering/analytics (Databricks, SQL, Python, Power BI, Microsoft stack)
Design, build, test, and deploy data products (data models, ETL pipelines, analytical datasets) in Databricks/Azure ecosystem
Enforce data cataloging, governance, and reproducible pipelines (Unity Catalog / Databricks best practices and Azure components)
Build pragmatic ML/conditional learning models where applicable (pilot/proof-of-concept) and partner with data scientists for production
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or Engineering related field
Minimum 3 years' experience in energy industry (oil and gas)
Experience leading a diverse team, with management oversight, of employees with competing interests
Ability to pivot between topics quickly and identify the cost-effective most agreeable solution
A thorough understanding of scheduling/contracting processes with an emphasis on one area (pre-flow/flow/post-flow)
Ability to pull complex database information and have a rudimentary understanding of relational databases
Ability to perform statistical analysis
Strong Python Skills
Strong SQL Skills
Advanced Excel pivot and/or Power BI skills
Preferred
Master's degree is preferred
Knowledge of machine learning-based tools is a plus
