Responsibilities

Confirm relevant patient information prior to service
Discuss and collect on patient liabilities
Ensure accurate and complete registration data and demographic information
Secure insurance coverage prior to services being rendered
Communicate patient liability estimates and expectations
Attempt collections on identified liabilities to meet daily productivity and quality standards

Qualification

Healthcare Access Management CertificationMedical TerminologyCustomer Service ExperienceAdmitting/Billing/Registration ExperienceCommunication Skills

Required

One (1) year of post high school business or college course work
Minimum one (1) year experience in dealing with the public in a customer service role
Medical Terminology proficiency by exam AND one of the following:
One (1) year admitting, billing, or registration experience in a health care setting
OR Graduate of a health vocational program such as Medical Assistance, Medical Billing & Insurance, or Medical General
OR AA Degree and six months healthcare experience

National Association of Healthcare Access Management Certification
