This role offers hands-on professional experience in content creation, branding, and digital storytelling while highlighting SIS student life and faculty research.

Responsibilities
Create eye-catching graphics and visual content for Instagram and other platforms to highlight SIS programs, events, student experiences, and faculty research
Help maintain and evolve a consistent visual identity for SIS social media that engages our audiences and reflects our community
Occasionally capture photos and videos or edit short-form video content to supplement graphic design work
Develop creative ways to showcase what makes SIS unique—from student perspectives to groundbreaking faculty research and community engagement
Collaborate with Communications & Marketing staff to brainstorm content ideas, pitch concepts, and contribute to overall content strategy
Stay informed on social media trends, platform best practices, and emerging content formats to keep our channels fresh and engaging
Qualification
Required
Must hold a bachelor's degree and be a current American University graduate student
Strong proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
Preferred
Previous experience working at AU campus office
Ideal candidate will hold a Federal Work Study award that is not already being used but not required
