They are looking for motivated, people-focused Office Assistants to support daily operations in their school bus department, assisting the terminal manager and coordinating routes. The role involves both office responsibilities and opportunities to drive when needed.
Travel
Responsibilities
Coordinate drivers and buses on routes. Keep routes/and operations operating smoothly
Accurately place students on routes
Arrange transportation for charters. Assign drivers to trips
Communicate with drivers on daily basis. Provide route and charter information and maintain a good relationship with drivers
Maintain accurate dispatch records for payroll purposes. Enter data into computer
Assist and collaborate with area terminals to cover routes and trips
Check in drivers and work with two-way radio during route times and throughout the day. Relay messages to drivers and handle concerns
Answer incoming calls. Handle if able to, or direct to correct department
Fill in on school routes and/or charter trips as necessary as a school bus driver
Provide assistance to other staff members if needed
Weekend duty rotation with other office staff may occur
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of student transportation or commercial transportation operations is required
Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Must be detail-oriented
Willingness to obtain CDL and assist with school bus driving as needed
Computer experience in a business or education environment is important
