The Senior Designer will be responsible for overseeing the design and product development process, ensuring effective communication with various teams, and maintaining awareness of industry trends to create on-trend products.

Responsibilities

Maintain awareness of current trends (design industry and retail) in both home and fashion to insure that all product development for Revman and licensed brands is on trend and saleable by attending industry seminars and/or trade shows, conducting market/retail research and reviewing industry publications

Support company merchandising and product development initiatives regardless of brand

Responsible for increasing design and product development experience to enable increased responsibility within the department

Responsible for mentoring and training Design Assistants/Junior Designers to excel in their responsibility as they gain more experience (if applicable)

Responsible for working directly with supervisor, merchandising, product managers, artist team, vendors, and independently, to ensure that all developments meet appropriate target pricing, critical ship dates and merchandising requirements (minimums, lead times, etc.) for assigned brands

Responsible for providing detailed and complete development information to Product Development Assistant (PDA) in order to initiate new projects with vendors via PLM system (marketing color, material info, construction details, etc.) Work closely with PDA to ensure data is accurately inputted and updated for all developments

Responsible for reviewing and responding with comments/corrections for all submits (strike offs, handlooms, lab dips, prototypes) in a timely manner and follow up with vendor on re-submits as necessary to reach approval by specified deadline

Maintain clear and effective communication with vendors and co-workers to facilitate on-time and accurate product for all assigned brands, which includes designing to specified target pricing and finding creative solutions to obtain desired look at best pricing

Responsible for organizing and maintaining accurate files and references on all projects, both past and current

Coordinate with Brand Manager artwork needed for brand approval prior to customer presentations

Responsible for understanding and following copyright and trademark policies of the company, and making sure the design team files copyright information on all sold artwork via PLM

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Design, Product Development or related field required

Minimum of five years of previous experience in design, product/brand management or marketing position

Knowledge of competitive market is beneficial in order to determine future trends

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is recommended as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office programs to include Excel

Knowledge of Google drive and Google applications

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company as well as with vendors

Possess strong organizational and analytical skills as well as strong project management skills

Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision

Ability to handle confidential information

Ability to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress
