The Cook County State's Attorney's Office (CCSAO) is seeking a savvy Digital Media Specialist to help shape the office’s presence on social media and create engaging content across a variety of visual formats. The role involves leading strategy on projects that inform the public about the CCSAO's work, including creating compelling content for social media and managing content calendars.

Responsibilities

Develop engaging social media content using photography, videos, and text-based visuals that reflect the CCSAO’s mission and help the public better understand the work of the office
Oversee consistent planning, management and posting of content across a variety of platforms including Instagram (Reels, Stories, In-Feed), X, LinkedIn, and Facebook
Incorporate best practices and relevant trends across social media sites to help the office connect with a broader audience
Craft accurate and compelling captions to accompany scheduled social media posts
Act as a staff photographer to document important events, initiatives, and campaigns for the CCSAO
Implement effective protocols for digital media management and storage of digital assets
Lead the video creation process from start to finish, including conceptualizing, filming, and editing videos to be shared externally
Design aesthetically interesting social media posts and PowerPoint presentations under tight deadlines
Interacts regularly with SAO staff members
Maintain Confidentiality
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

The candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
The candidate must have the ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Expertise in Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other relevant editing platforms
Advanced proficiency with audio/visual equipment

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
Track record of executing successful social media campaigns, successful time management skills, and ability to collaborate across various teams
