The Human Factors Engineer I is responsible for creating, evaluating, and modifying prototypes to support hardware and software application development.

Responsibilities
May develop user profiles focusing on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation, and task/objective analyses
Develops and applies software design/usability processes to investigate technical problems
Provides product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
Analyzes and investigates applications/systems, including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response, and conversational user interaction
May assist in developing design concepts and implementation, providing input on user design considerations
May produce specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for products in development
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a bachelors degree in STEM or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Must have a basic understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required
