Principal Engineer Software – X-Lab Software Engineer (25-506)
Northrop Grumman is a leader in technological advancements, seeking a Principal Engineer Software – X-Lab Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Integration team. This role involves developing and testing innovative software solutions for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which is crucial for missile defense operations.

Responsibilities
This position is a full-time, on-site role at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever SFB, CO, and is not a remote work position
Some work is required at the Hwy 83 facility
Nonstandard work hours are likely during event execution
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the eligibility to be cleared at TS/SCI
Experience with Java and Spring Framework
Experience with the Linux environment
Experience with software testing and analysis tools
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
Full-cycle software engineering of new capabilities
Basic Systems Engineering understanding to drive software design
Software development with Java (or other object-oriented language)
Object-Oriented development principles and patterns
Generate detailed and repeatable tests
Must possess an understanding of Agile software development processes and principles and be able to communicate the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and system users
Should be comfortable with rapidly changing requirements, design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced work, and tight deadlines
Application deployment, integration, and troubleshooting
Operating systems experience with Windows & Unix/Linux
Experience with Eclipse IDE, Maven, and Git/GitLab, Python, Ansible
