Customer Insights & Market Research Strategy Manager (Digital Subscriptions)

They are seeking a Customer Insights & Market Research Strategy Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of paid products and services by uncovering subscriber motivations and behaviors. The role involves leading research projects to drive subscription growth strategies and translating insights into actionable strategies for subscriber acquisition and retention.

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end research projects (qualitative and quantitative) to uncover consumer insights that drive subscription growth strategies
Conduct advanced pricing research (e.g., Conjoint, Gabor-Granger methodologies) to inform subscription pricing and packaging strategies
Size Total Addressable Market (TAM), calibrate conjoint data, and deliver actionable business recommendations
Develop, design, and manage surveys (Value Proposition, Pricing, Messaging, MaxDiff, etc.) to evaluate consumer needs and positioning effectiveness
Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Finance, Analytics) to translate insights into actionable strategies for subscriber acquisition and retention
Manage external research vendors, ensuring accountability, quality, and timely delivery of insights
Synthesize complex data into clear narratives and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Combine art and science by blending analytical rigor with creative storytelling to shape YouTube’s subscription strategy
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or strategy roles within media, sports, or technology industries
Advanced expertise in quantitative research methods, including pricing research (Conjoint, Gabor-Granger), TAM sizing, and survey calibration
Experience conducting qualitative research (focus groups, in-depth interviews) to uncover deep consumer motivations
Proficiency in survey design and execution (Value Prop, Pricing, Messaging, MaxDiff, etc.)
Strong ability to process, analyze, and interpret complex datasets
Consulting experience at top-tier firms
