1+ years expFMI – The Food Industry Association is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the financial operations of their Accounting Department. In this hybrid role, the assistant will provide administrative and customer support, process payments, reconcile deposits, and assist with data projects.

Responsibilities
Process and maintain SQFI cash receipts, which includes obtaining payments via ACH, wire, or mail, and creating batches for Accounts Receivable
Review and reconcile deposits from SQF audit databases and produce daily cash receipt batches with supporting documentation
Research and respond to member and customer inquiries related to accounts receivable
Provide general administrative support including publication order fulfillment, preparing and shipping items to customers, etc
Assist database managers with data projects, such as extracting data, record reviews, merging records, and making updates, as necessary
Qualification
Required
One to three years of professional experience in accounting, business, or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including the ability to create and use spreadsheets in Excel as well as the ability to use Teams, Outlook, etc
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to produce error-free work
Excellent telephone, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems independently
Preferred
A college degree in accounting or business is a plus
Prior experience using accounting and/or database software preferred
Spanish verbal and written fluency is a plus
