Senior Director of Development
Renown Health is seeking a Senior Director of Development to lead their fundraising team at the Renown Foundation. This role involves providing strategic direction and management to secure philanthropy for various programs and services while overseeing the cultivation and solicitation of major and planned giving prospects.

Responsibilities
Supervises the team of fundraisers for the Renown Foundation and is responsible for individual and team fundraising goals
Collaborates with peer colleagues
Provides leadership, strategic direction and management for Renown Foundation to execute its mission of serving Renown Health by securing philanthropy for programs, services and capital needs
Directs the team of development officers to cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned giving prospects/donors
Responsible for 75-100 prospects/donors and an annual revenue goal in their personal portfolio
Updates major donor prospective pipeline
Oversees how the team of development officers support specific hospital service lines as well as other high priority projects for Renown Health
Supports may include creation and implementation of developing a case for support; identifying and recruiting a compelling solicitation team of physicians, volunteers and senior executives
Regularly maintains the donor database records for assigned donors/prospects as interactions with prospective donors and volunteers occur
Has frequent contact and regular working relationships with the CDO, the Senior Director of Foundation Operations, and the Renown Executive and Administrative Teams
Works closely with the volunteer Trustees serving on the Board, community volunteers who work on various committees and with influential community members who are current or prospective donors
Participates in community organizations and events to foster visibility and on-going relationships beneficial to Renown and to educate community leaders about Renown’s not-for-profit mission
Sets and achieves annual metrics and multi-goals for funds raised, individual visits which advance a cultivation or solicitation strategy, solicitations/year with ask levels of $25,000 or more, and solicitations for charitable estate planning
Qualification
Required
Highly sophisticated understanding of and experience with all aspects of the cultivation and solicitation cycle including moves management
Strategic planning for individual prospects to include cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, etc
Experience personally asking for major gifts
Experience working in complex healthcare organizations
Knowledge of healthcare philanthropy department operations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Track record of successfully managing current and prospective donors at the major gifts level ($25,000 or greater)
Ambitious and motivated professional who values a collaborative working environment; outstanding social skills, instinct and judgment
Able to establish strong interpersonal relationships with donors, foundation trustees, development staff, senior leadership and physicians
Maturity, integrity, and sense of humor required
Bachelor's degree required
Ten years as a major gifts officer for an established non-profit institution with experience solely focused on major gift solicitations of $25,000 or more
A track record of results showing funds raised of $1 million annually
A track record of managing a team of development officers
Comfortable working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and a customer relations management database program like Raiser's Edge
Preferred
Healthcare or Higher Education experience strongly preferred
