Mechanical Engineer, Advanced
Naval Nuclear Laboratory is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of naval nuclear reactors and training U.S. Navy personnel. The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical support for various onsite mechanical systems and develop maintenance procedures while promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support for various onsite mechanical systems and develop maintenance procedures
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers
Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Provides effective project management and accountability of engineering schedules
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company
All candidates must be U.S. citizens
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707
Preferred
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. pumps, motors, HVAC)
Ability to recognize and solve technical problems to ensure plant success
Knowledgeable of Building Codes and Standards
Experience in development of technical work documents such as work scopes, specifications, or contract documents
Work with engineers of varied disciplines to coordinate system interfaces
Self-starter, capable of effectively working both as part of a team and independently
Familiarity with standard MS Office applications
