The role involves ensuring timely payments, resolving invoice discrepancies, and maintaining financial controls within the accounts payable department.

Responsibilities
Date stamps incoming paper invoices daily
Checks e-mail daily for incoming electronic invoices prints and date stamps invoices
Codes and enters invoices into AS400 system
Either manually or electronically conducts a three-way match (invoice, purchase order, and receiving documents)
Identifies and resolves any matching problem with the appropriate party
Responsible for obtaining appropriate approval on non-PO-related invoices
Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices
Gathers and logs accruals where required
Document copying and filing
Interacting with vendors via email and telephone when required
Answers inquiries from vendors on invoice status
Interacting with purchasing and other departments
Comply with established standards and protocols of the accounts payable department and the overall organization’s goals and objectives
Ensures that established financial internal controls are adhered to in the performance of specific responsibilities
Qualification
Required
High School diploma/GED required
AS400, MS Office Suite (proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Preferred
2 years' relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
Accounts Payable Certification is highly desirable
