Maintenance Intern

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Intern to join their team. The intern will assist the maintenance team with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and general repairs while supporting maintenance operations across various clinics.

Responsibilities

Aid the maintenance team in performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, general repairs, machinery predictive or corrective repairs
Supports the maintenance team in diagnosing and repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general equipment
Travels with maintenance staff to other clinics to assist with urgent calls or routine duties
Assists in maintaining the facility, including keeping work areas clean, organizing tools and parts inventories
Willingness to take direction from technicians and supervisor
Follows all company safety practices and other policies
May be assigned duties independently
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Basic understanding of electrical systemsBasic understanding of mechanical systemsGeneral maintenance processesValid driver’s licenseFollow directionLift heavy objectsStand for long periodsToolsTeamworkCommunication skills

Required

Enrolled in a degree program related to maintenance from a college or university
Valid driver's license
Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical systems, and general maintenance processes and methods. Demonstrate mechanical skills
Works well as a team member
Working knowledge of tools and how to safely use them
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow direction
Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of times
