Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end monthly reporting process, including close schedules, balance sheet and P&L analysis, book value movements, cost trends, and other drivers of financial performance
Support the preparation of quarterly and annual filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and Management’s Discussion & Analysis
Develop materials for quarter-end earnings, including investor presentations and public announcements
Produce covenant and compliance reporting for financing partners
Contribute to board-level reporting and related management deliverables
Assist with regulatory and structural compliance matters, including hands-on involvement in REIT-related tax calculations, testing, taxable income analysis, and provisions
Support ad-hoc initiatives and special projects as business needs arise
Partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Portfolio Management
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audit teams, supporting audit timelines, control documentation, and SOX 404 requirements
Help maintain and enhance the financial forecasting and dividend planning model
Review and assess complex transactions, preparing technical accounting documentation as required
Qualification
Required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, coupled with a high level of attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present information clearly, accurately, and transparently
Comfortable partnering across multiple functions while also demonstrating the initiative and independence needed to own workstreams
Preferred
An active CPA license preferred
Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms to drive process efficiency is advantageous
Exposure to GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX requirements is beneficial, though not mandatory
Background working with structured or mortgage-related assets (including residential loans, MBS, and fair value measurement) is helpful but not essential
