Engineer Associate - Senior(Protection and Controls Engineer)
American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Protection and Controls Engineer to perform intermediate to senior level engineering work. The role involves designing and implementing fault clearing strategies, managing projects, and supporting various teams within the organization.

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred
Typically acquired two (2) or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
Individuals with a master's degree in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at grade 06 level
Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at grade 07 level
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred
Typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
Or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at this level
Acceptable alternative is: Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program
Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standard
Acceptable alternatives are: Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S
Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited bachelor's program
