Responsibilities
OpenShift Infrastructure (OCP Infra) Deployment:
Architecture & Design: Lead the architectural design and deployment of OpenShift 4.x clusters on various infrastructure footprints (Bare Metal, vSphere, AWS/Azure/GCP, or Hybrid Cloud)
Platform Implementation: Execute "Day 0" and "Day 1" activities, including cluster installation (IPI/UPI), node provisioning, and configuration of core infrastructure operators
Infrastructure Integration: Configure essential infrastructure components including:
Networking: CNI plugins (OVN-Kubernetes/SDN), DNS, Load Balancing (MetalLB/external LBs), and Ingress Controllers
Storage: Integration with CSI drivers, OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF/Ceph), or external enterprise storage arrays
Automation: Develop Ansible playbooks, Helm charts, or Terraform scripts to automate cluster provisioning and configuration management (Infrastructure as Code)
Advanced Cluster Security (Client) & DevSecOps:
Client Implementation: Deploy, configure, and manage Advanced Cluster Security (formerly StackRox) to secure Kubernetes environments
Policy Enforcement: Define and enforce security policies for vulnerability management, network segmentation, and runtime threat detection
Pipeline Integration: Integrate Client scanners into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab CI) to prevent vulnerable images from reaching production ("Shift Left" security)
Compliance & Auditing: Configure compliance operator scans (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, PCI-DSS) and assist in remediation of security findings
Advisory & Operations:
Technical Leadership: Lead workshops and define best practices for cluster scaling, high availability, and disaster recovery
Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive root cause analysis for complex infrastructure and security incidents
Documentation: Create comprehensive "as-built" documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge transfer materials for client operations teams
Qualification
Required
Expert-level proficiency with OpenShift Container Platform 4.x (Architecture, Installation, Upgrades)
Deep understanding of K8s internals (Etcd, API Server, Controllers, CRDs)
Strong Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration skills (CoreOS experience is a plus)
Proven experience with Advanced Cluster Security (Client), including Central/Sensor deployment and policy customization
Proficiency in Ansible and Python/Bash scripting
Experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD/OpenShift GitOps)
Strong consultative communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
