Systems Administrator

Koniag Government Services is seeking a Systems Administrator to support TGS and their government customer in Carlsbad, NM. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing IT operations while working independently under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager to minimize disruption of services.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute with Network engineers, Service Desk, and federal staff, and the IT Operations Manager to efficiently integrate tasks into regular IT operations, and to minimize disruption of IT services to customers
Complete CBFO training and briefings as directed
Work independently under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager to plan, execute, document, and report on multiple projects and tasks
Perform IT-related customer support, including, but not limited to, help desk, NOC center, service desk, and/or remote support
Track, manage, and report on workload to management/supervisors using IT/help desk management systems such as Remedy, ZenDesk, and/or Web Help Desk
Administer Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS), E-Mail archiving, migration, and data compression applications
Administer server systems including Hyper-V, virtualization, and thin clients
Configure/administer two-factor authentication, including Smart Card configuration
Implement Public/Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption techniques, including email encryption
Administer Wi-Fi and Power Distribution Unit (PDU/UPS)
Administer Microsoft Exchange architecture, including VOIP integration and unified communications
Implement cyber security best practices, including Operating System baselines and system hardening
Utilize Microsoft SCCM for third-party patching and OS image deployment
Accomplish technical writing relative to Network/Application project plans, network diagrams, policy & procedure, and other types of technical documentation
Prepare analyses and recommendations to support the procurement of IT server systems and supporting equipment
Independently troubleshoot IT systems and analyze system, application, and security logs

Required

Associate's Degree in Computer Science and/or a related field, or 4 years of relevant IT experience, with 2 of those years including experience in the administration of Microsoft Windows server systems in Active Directory, including Wide-Area Network (WAN) experience with forest domains
Candidate must possess 2 years of experience in performing IT-related customer support, including, but not limited to, help desk, NOC center, service desk, and/or remote support
Experience in IT/help desk management systems such as Remedy, ZenDesk, and/or Web Help Desk to track, manage, and report on workload to management/supervisors
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS)
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of E-Mail archiving, migration, and data compression applications
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of server administration to include Hyper-V, virtualization, and thin clients
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of two-factor authentication, including Smart Card configuration/administration
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of Public/Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption techniques, including email encryption
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of Wi-Fi administration
Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of Power Distribution Unit (PDU/UPS) administration
Requires 4 years of experience in the administration of Microsoft Exchange architecture, including VOIP integration, unified communications, and records management applications
Extensive experience with cyber security best practices, including Operating System baselines, CIS/USGCB benchmarking utilities, system hardening, firewall configuration, security appliance administration, and other IT-related cyber systems as required
Knowledge and experience within Microsoft SCCM for third-party patching and OS image deployment
The ability to accomplish technical writing relative to Network/Application project plans, network diagrams, policy & procedure, and other types of technical documentation
Prepare analyses and recommendations to support the procurement of IT server systems and supporting equipment. Collect, analyze, and document market research information for procurement estimates
Independently troubleshoot IT systems. Analyze system, application, and security logs. Prepare/deliver written or oral reports with analyses and recommendations for upgrades and/or corrective actions

Preferred

Knowledge of DOE Order 205.1B Department of Energy Cyber Security Program and NIST 800-53 experience, including implementation methods is highly desirable
The ability to accomplish technical writing relative to Network/Application project plans, network diagrams, policy & procedure, and other types of technical documentation is highly desirable
