Responsibilities
Utilize statistical methods and techniques to analyze data and deliver data-driven insights for underwriting decision-making and automation
Develop models to support underwriting automation
Monitor key performance indicators to ensure effective tracking and assessment of underwriting activities
Conduct protective value studies to evaluate the effectiveness and value of third party data sources
Construct and maintain data dictionaries to ensure clarity and consistency in data usage
Perform deep dive analyses to uncover detailed insights
Develop models to support underwriting automation processes
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in research, biological science, analytics, statistics, actuarial science or related field, or equivalent experience
Five years of research/analytics experience in underwriting automation, data science, life insurance, or medical research
Proficiency in R, Python or equivalent coding language and/or Power BI
Proficiency in SQL
Experience building basic statistical and/or machine learning models
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present research findings to senior management
An inquisitive mindset and the ability and willingness to learn new skills
Proficiency using MS Excel
Preferred
Advanced degree in a relevant field
Life underwriting knowledge
Experience with automation
