Responsibilities

Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of children in grades TK-6th grade
Provide homework assistance
Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions and practicing good health habits
Knowledge and experience with Project Based Learning, creating projects, activities, and events that increase student understanding and use of 21st century skills
Use Positive Discipline classroom management strategies and techniques
Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player
Prepare meals/snacks, maintain classroom materials, and prepare supplies required for daily activities
Create exciting, enriched and developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences
Maintain accurate attendance records using a digital sign in/out system
Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other

Required

0-12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field
6 months of experience working with children ages 4-12 years of age in child care setting
12 ECE core semester units or Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
1 year of experience working with children ages 4-12 years of age in a child care setting
Knowledge of basic subjects taught; correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential
Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam
Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children

Preferred

CPR and First Aid Certified
