The Clinical Lab Technician II will perform various laboratory duties under supervision, including patient and specimen preparation, client service activities, and quality control functions while ensuring sensitivity to the developmental issues of the patient population.

Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of unlicensed or licensed CLS, MLT, or section manager, functions as an unlicensed or licensed staff member in a licensed clinical laboratory performing duties approved by California business code 1269, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies
Duties and responsibilities include patient preparation, specimen preparation, client service activities, preparation and management of reagents and supplies, and performing procedures and QC functions approved by regulatory agencies
Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issues of the patient population(s) being served
May be asked to take direction from a Lead or Senior level position
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred
1+ years experience in a large laboratory or academic institution
clinical or research lab experience
Experience in medical terminology sufficient to understand and discuss technical aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine
Strong customer service, communication and critical thinking skills
Experience with high volume data entry
AA degree
