McLaren Health Care is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the planning and implementation of engaging activities for residents. This role focuses on enhancing residents' wellbeing through various activities, ensuring their safety, and maintaining communication with staff to provide high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Contributes to resident's wellbeing by helping residents use equipment and supplies. Activities may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, music or drama

Prepares equipment and materials for planned activities and ensures the safety of residents in the activity

Assists or leads the participants in group activities, such as an exercise class or art project. Helps keep records of equipment and its use

Assists in planning programs for residents, which can help to provide socialization, relaxation and exercise

Maintains communication and collaboration with the other staff to promote highest quality care

Treats residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity

Maintains the confidentiality of all resident and family information

Maintains knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications

Performs other related duties as required and directed
