Purchasing Analyst

Warren Equipment Company is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to optimize company spend and procure high-value products and services. This data-driven role involves spend analytics, supplier evaluation, and strategic sourcing support, directly impacting the company's bottom line.

Responsibilities

Analyze company-wide spend to identify cost-reduction opportunities, pricing inconsistencies, and demand-consolidation opportunities
Develop dashboards and reports that provide visibility into spend trends, vendor concentration, and savings initiatives
Partner with Finance and business leaders to quantify savings and track realized vs. forecasted benefits
Support supplier selection, RFP/RFQ processes, and vendor negotiations through data analysis and market research
Evaluate supplier performance related to pricing, quality, delivery, and service levels
Assist in contract reviews to identify pricing, volume, and term optimization opportunities
Identify opportunities to standardize products, services, and purchasing processes
Support procurement policy compliance and recommend improvements to controls and workflows
Leverage ERP and procurement systems to improve data quality and purchasing efficiency
Act as a trusted partner to Operations, Finance, IT, and other departments to understand business needs and sourcing requirements
Translate business requirements into actionable procurement insights and sourcing strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, finance, supply chain, or data analytics
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)
Ability to analyze large data sets and clearly communicate insights and recommendations
Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the “big picture”

Preferred

Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Coupa, Ariba, etc.)
Exposure to contract analysis, strategic sourcing, or supplier negotiations
SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/analytics tools
Experience working in a multi-location or complex operating environment
Previous experience in the heavy equipment industry or working knowledge of shop consumables (e.g., MRO supplies, tooling, PPE, lubricants, and operational support materials) and their impact on production efficiency, cost, and quality
