The Financial Counselor will manage patient accounts, verify insurance coverage, and assist patients in navigating their financial responsibilities while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and self-pay balances at the time of service

Conduct insurance verifications for new and existing patients, ensuring coverage accuracy

Facilitate prior authorizations and manage authorized billable units for services

Assist patients and families with Medicaid and other insurance program applications

Perform quality control checks on patient accounts to ensure proper documentation

Collaborate with billing, clinical, and administrative teams to support timely claims submission

Respond to patient and insurance inquiries by phone and in person

Track and report on account status, follow-ups, and resolutions

Utilize EHR and billing software to ensure data integrity and real-time updates
