AAV Production Biology and Process Development Intern
Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking Junior and Master's students for a 10-week internship role in their Genomic Medicine division. The intern will perform laboratory experiments related to AAV production, analyze data, and prepare reports while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities
Perform laboratory experiments under the guidance of experienced scientists investigating the biology of AAV production to engineer improved production conditions
Perform experiments investigating novel plasmid designs for improved AAV plasmid quality
Analyze experimental data and contribute to interpretation of results
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings
Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory experiments and results
Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
Qualification
Required
Junior and Master's students majoring in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field
Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026
Required laboratory skills include pipetting, mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis), analyzing and interpreting experimental data
US Work Authorization is required at time of application
Ability to report onsite to the Cambridge, MA site 5 days per week. This role will not provide relocation assistance
Preferred
Preferred skills include DNA cloning, plasmid purification, AAV or other viral vectors, statistical software, Flow cytometry, genome engineering
Familiarity with the innate immune system is a plus
Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design
