QTEC Aerospace is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will serve as the Lead Software Engineer on the Fire Control System for a large Missile Defense Program, leading a team and driving value delivery for the infrastructure of a complex Missile Defense command and control system.

Responsibilities

Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and testing

Responsible for leading a team and driving value delivery for the infrastructure of a complex Missile Defense command and control system

Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment

Occasional travel may be required

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of related experience, or 4 years with a PhD not to exceed 14 years

Recent and extensive experience developing software in C++ or Java

Willingness to become proficient with Ada software development

Experience with Unix/Linux Operating Systems

Experience leading a technical team of 5 or more individuals

Experience estimating planning and scheduling software development work for a technical team

Eager to learn and absorb new concepts and information

Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation

Proven experience understanding complex algorithms and implementing them in software

Proven team player able to understand multiple aspects of the project

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief technical presentations to the customer as needed

Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance
