Entry Level Mechatronics Engineer

Responsibilities

Assist in the design of control panels, cables, and control stations
Perform system and component-level calculations for sizing and protection (e.g., conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, short circuit protection)
Apply standard engineering methods and follow established design processes and standards
Develop and execute test plans, conduct risk analyses, and validate equipment functionality through hands-on testing
Support continuous improvement by evaluating existing design processes and implementing enhancements
Explore and test electromechanical technologies to support product development
Contribute to design guidelines and help automate repetitive CAD and design tasks
Utilize AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency
Engage with cross-functional teams and actively participate in knowledge sharing
Demonstrate willingness to learn new technologies and engineering practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Electrical aptitude with knowledge of design practices, techniques, and codes
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for single and multi-line drawings
Understanding of controls engineering principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work in a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Experience with industrial machinery and motor control theory
Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and UL508A standards
Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and industrial fieldbus protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, etc.)
Exposure to Allen Bradley PLC platforms (Siemens experience is a plus)
